Wrapping Up Rush Week Spring 2016
It’s spring quarter 2016, and Omega Beta has completed it's most impressive and successful rush week yet! All week long, brothers volunteered to tend to the AKPsi table in red square, informing passersby about the activities and core ideals of the fraternity. Our rush committee established creative new info-nights to foster both interest and provide information for potential candidates.
The first info night saw our rush committee put on an ice cream social event, where interested students could socialize with brothers and learn more about the fraternity. Speakers also provided formal information about the core values and ideals of Alpha Kappa Psi.
The following night, Omega Beta hosted a LinkedIn workshop, delving into the finer details of the valuable networking site. In doing so, brothers communicated the unique professional tone of Alpha Kappa Psi, while also providing opportunity for potential recruits to have their questions regarding brotherhood/pledging answered.
The highlight of our rush week efforts came on the third info night, where brothers held a “Pro-D” fashion show. The purpose of the event was to showcase the do’s and don’ts of professional dress, a code brothers adhere to at fraternity events. In addition, the event gave potential candidates a final chance to learn more about the pledge process before applications were due. Here’s a few pictures from the night:
The efforts of Rush Week certainly paid off, as the Omega Beta had the highest amount of applicants it’d seen in recent quarters! Out of 29 applications, our fraternity inducted a selection total of 20 pledges. We are very proud to welcome the new group of associate members into Omega Beta, as they begin their pledge process!
