Winter 2017 Rush and Induction
Happy 2017! It's a new year and a new quarter here at Western. As classes began and brothers settled back into Bellingham after a long winter break, Omega Beta jumped right into Winter Rush.
Rush events were held during the first full week of classes. Brothers and prospective pledges were given the chance to ask questions, mingle, and share in fun events! The first evening consisted of an AKPsi information night, followed by an interview etiquette workshop. The workshop highlighted the importance of coming to interviews prepared and with questions, being well educated about the company, proper dress attire and appropriate body language- all extremely useful information!
The second evening was a fun night where participants were split into teams of three and given the task of decorating a toy car with craft supplies. This creative activity challenged team members' creativity and collaboration to design a product that they could sell to the judges in the end. Selling skills were tested as the winner was chosen based on the most persuasive argument.
To end the rush events was our famous Professional Development fashion show. The three dress categories featured were: "What Not to Wear", "Business Casual", and "Professional Dress." The audience enjoyed snacks and refreshments as OB brothers strutted their stuff. "What Not to Wear" was a huge hit with the crowd.
Induction was held last Thursday evening where we welcomed the thirteen associate members of the Sigma Pledge Class. These pledges have a very busy four-weeks ahead of them as they journey through the pledge process to become members of Alpha Kappa Psi. We look forward to meeting each of you and supporting you along the way!
